Position Summary

As a Turf and Utility Technician, you'll be responsible for the set-up and maintenance of lawn and garden equipment, specializing in John Deere machinery. From chainsaws to compact tractors, your expertise will ensure that our customers receive top-notch service while embodying {COG NAME} core values of Commitment, Passion, Progressiveness, Integrity, and Value Delivery.

Job Responsibilities

•    Perform setup and repair tasks for John Deere lawn and garden equipment.
•    Diagnose and repair small engines and related equipment as necessary.
•    Communicate effectively with customers, addressing maintenance, repair, and service concerns and documenting them on work orders.
•    Engage in Service EDUCATE Training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
•    Stay updated on John Deere and competitor product knowledge.
•    Maintain the condition of inventory, tools, and equipment.
•    Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines during work assignments.
•    Complete all necessary reports and forms associated with work duties.
•    Track and account for time and materials used for assigned tasks.
•    Foster positive and respectful interactions with customers and colleagues.
•    Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    Proficiency in small engines, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
•    Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
•    Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
•    Capability to execute basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment, following Technical Manual procedures.
•    Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to turf equipment and small engines.
•    Competence in using Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer functions.
•    Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
•    Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
•    High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
•    Willingness to work Saturdays and extended hours as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
•    Associates degree preferred.
