Position Summary
As a Precision Ag Product Support Specialist at Valley Plains Equipment, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging technology with customer success. This dynamic position focuses on supporting both our internal teams—especially Sales and Service—and external customers with advanced agricultural solutions. You’ll deliver hands-on technical expertise, proactively guide technology adoption, and collaborate across departments to ensure precision tools are implemented, optimized, and maintained effectively. Job Responsibilities
•    Serve as a technical resource for both customers and dealership personnel, with an emphasis on supporting Sales and Service departments.
•    Support product optimization and upgrade strategies across the dealership, including software updates, calibrations, and PDI on new and used equipment.
•    Proactively assist Sales in identifying opportunities to enhance customer operations through Precision Ag solutions.
•    Collaborate with Sales on key accounts to deliver comprehensive, total-farm technology strategies.
•    Support Service teams by aiding in diagnostics, installations, calibrations, and ExpertConnect cases that require advanced technical support.
•    Provide in-field and remote customer support and troubleshooting for display systems, JDLink, Operations Center, and connected solutions.
•    Execute preseason optimization agreements and recurring support packages, ensuring accurate billing and customer satisfaction.
•    Deliver formal training sessions to both customers and internal departments on equipment, Operation Center, and new technologies (e.g., See & Spray, Autonomy).
•    Manage Operation Center accounts and provide guidance on mobile tools and data flow.
•    Lead or assist with equipment demonstrations and the rollout of new technologies.
•    Help grow the dealership’s support revenue through consultative services and license sales.

 


Qualifications
•    2+ years of experience in Precision Ag, or working in Sales, Service, or Parts departments.
•    Strong communication and teaching skills with a proven ability to guide others through technical processes.
•    Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in off-road or Ag equipment.
•    Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office, Service ADVISOR, and Operations Center.
•    High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
•    Core John Deere certifications (e.g., Electrical/Electronics, Hydraulics) strongly preferred.

Compensation
The following represents Valley Plains Equipment compensation estimation based on market data and placement of internal employees. This is salary role with a starting base of $50,000 and going up to $80,000 based on experience. This role is also incentive eligible and is based on performance.
