Position Summary

The Service Manager must enjoy working with customers in the store and in their fields alongside a network of John Deere technicians and technology support staff who have a common passion for agriculture, adding value and improving the customer experience. Manage service operations within the dealership to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment by optimizing service department processes. Key personal qualities include confidence, competitiveness, being driven to succeed, strong communication skills, and being a team player. Critical decision-making skills are also necessary for this position, and a desire to constantly learn and improve to strive towards excellence. A strong work ethic, moral standards with a high level of professionalism, and pride in the quality of work performed will lead to success for this individual. The Service Manager will work alongside a team of accomplished John Deere service technicians who will achieve common service targets.

Job Responsibilities

· Schedule the assignment of jobs and work areas in the service dept.

· Assist in appraisal of repair orders, coach technicians on repairs

· Review repair orders for accuracy & completeness

· Direct & assist in the diagnosis of machine problems

· Maintain special tools. Recommend new tooling as required

· Communicate, enforce, and monitor dept. processes to ensure customer satisfaction

· Approve the release of customer equipment

· Assist with the development and training of personnel

· Complete performance reviews

· Assist in the tracking and scheduling of Product Improvement Programs

· Participate in JDU continuing education

· Operate and maintain tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities

· Follow & promote all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

· Maintains current knowledge of JD & competitive equipment

Qualifications

· 7+ years of experience performing service repairs; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred

· Experience leading a team and working cooperatively in a team environment

· Experience using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician's specialty

· Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

· Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes

· Experience with basic computer functions; Service Advisor or diagnostic tools preferred

· Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing

· High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred

· Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred

Compensation

The following represents Brandt Holdings compensation estimation based on market data and placement of internal employees. This is a hourly role with a starting base of $66,000 and going up to $109,000 based on experience. This role is also incentive eligible and is based on performance.
